Short answer — Alexandra Eala, ranked No. 19 in the world, plays her final tournament of 2026 at the WTA 250 Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open, held from Monday, 2 November to Sunday, 8 November at Victoria Park. The draw published on Saturday, 31 October puts her as the No. 2 seed against American Alycia Parks in the first round. Hong Kong shares the Philippines' time zone, so every match time posted by the tournament is also Manila time. The event's total prize money is listed at $283,347, about ₱18.09 million at the BSP rate of ₱63.852 for 30 October, by our calculation.

Why it matters to Filipino fans: this is the last chance in 2026 for the country's top-ranked player to add points and prize money before the off-season, in a city close enough for travelling supporters, and in a draw that reports describe as harder than her seeding suggests. Below we go through the field, the draw, Eala's season numbers and what is still unclear.

What is the Hong Kong Open, and who withdrew?

The WTA's field announcement of 8 October 2026 describes the tournament as one of the final two events on the WTA Tour calendar before the WTA Finals, played on outdoor hard courts at the Victoria Park Tennis Stadium. It dates back to 1980 and returned to the tour in 2014. First-round play starts on Monday, 2 November and the singles and doubles finals are on Sunday, 8 November, the same day the WTA Finals begin at Indian Wells. The defending champion, Victoria Mboko, has been out of action since June, according to the WTA.

That announcement listed four Top 20 players at the head of the field: Diana Shnaider, Sorana Cirstea, Eala and Jasmine Paolini. By the time seeds were set, the field had changed. The tournament's Wikipedia entry list, which cites rankings as of 26 October, shows Shnaider and Paolini among the withdrawals, alongside Zheng Qinwen, Ann Li and others. That leaves Eala as one of only two Top 20 players in the seed list.

The wild cards went to Maddison Inglis, Adithya Karunaratne, Sun Xinran and Venus Williams, the same list shows.

Who does Eala face, and how hard is the path?

The draw sheet published by Ubitennis on 31 October places Eala, marked as seed 2, at the bottom of the bracket against Alycia Parks, who entered as a replacement after Anhelina Kalinina withdrew. The neighbouring first-round match is Sun Xinran against Tereza Valentova, so Eala's possible second-round opponent comes from that pair.

Two English-language previews on 31 October fill in the history. Tennis365 notes that Parks, ranked No. 58 and once as high as No. 40, beat Eala in the first round of the Australian Open this year before Eala levelled the head-to-head at the Canadian Open. It adds that Valentova has beaten Eala twice, at the Japan Open and the Qatar Open, without dropping a set. Yahoo Sports confirms the 1–1 record against Parks, says Eala's win in Toronto went to three sets, and points out that Sun is the reigning US Open junior champion.

Tennis365's "most likely route" runs Parks, Valentova, Antonia Ruzic, Talia Gibson and, in the final, top seed Cirstea, who has said Hong Kong will be the last tournament of her career. That projection is the outlet's opinion, not a result.

What do Eala's 2026 numbers say?

Her WTA player profile, read on 31 October, shows a current singles ranking of 19, one singles title, a 2026 win–loss record of 41–24 and prize money of $2,032,195. Yahoo Sports identifies the title as the Washington Open and lists a fourth-round run at Wimbledon among her best results this year. Tennis365 adds that she reached the quarter-finals of the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo, losing to Shnaider in three sets.

The peso figures use the rate of ₱63.852 per dollar dated 30 October 2026 in the BSP's daily peso per US dollar table. They are conversions for scale, not what a player banks: prize money is paid gross in dollars, and taxes, coaching and travel costs come out of it. We have not been able to confirm the split of the $283,347 by round from an official source, so we do not quote a winner's cheque.

When can fans in the Philippines watch?

Hong Kong and the Philippines both use UTC+8, so there is no time conversion. The WTA says first-round matches start on Monday, 2 November. As a top-four seed in a 32-player draw, Eala is listed in the first round on the draw sheet; the order of play for each day is released by the tournament the evening before, and her exact court and time were not published when we wrote this. If she wins her opener, her second-round match would fall later in the week, and the final is on Sunday, 8 November.

What is not confirmed?

What should a fan in the Philippines keep in mind?

Enjoy the tournament for what it is: a chance to watch the country's best player close out a breakthrough season. Head-to-head records and rankings are useful context, but they do not decide matches, and a 1–1 record against Parks shows how thin the margins are. If you choose to bet on sport, do so only with licensed operators, set a peso limit before the week starts and never chase a loss.
